If you're thinking about getting your FFL and starting down the long road of submitting your federal firearms license application, then you've come to the right place.  I've tried to make this site a real resource for those trying to understand all of the various ffl requirements and license types, and really hope that I can help you on your journey. Just a couple of things to keep in mind  before you get started.....
  • Anytime you deal with the Federal Government, there's going to be paperwork involved and you can pretty well guarantee that it's not going to be written with you and me in mind.  I've known lawyers that get confused by this stuff.  Just be patient, there are resources on the web that can help guide you through the process.  I'll be sure and point you to my favorite ones as you read more.
  • With the new administration in place, you can bet that Congress is going to start looking at more restrictive policies relating to the federal firearms license application process and those that are allowed to get a gun dealer license.  I'd urge you not to wait too long before you start the process.
With that being said, please feel free to have a look around the site.  I've tried to answer the most popular questions in the posts to the right.  That's probably the best place to start looking for answers. There are also several kits on the market that claim to automate the entire process for you.  As you might guess, the idea that you can automate this process is wishful thinking.  However, there are good kits that will walk you step-by-step through through the entire process, provide you with some software to help with Federal reporting requirements, and make sure you understand the ffl requirements.  These kits can run as high as $100, but the one that I really like the best is around $50 and provides a lot of extras.  You can get it HERE and you will see it in the Recommended Resource box on the upper right of this site as well.  Please feel free to check them out. Good Luck!
